Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE)
Note:  if you use Netscape, I will be building IBT Browser Pages for you soon.

Some conclusions (continued)

A case in point is Google.com.   Google has two buttons you can choose from when performing your search, and kinda sums up the current workings of internet search engines.  One button says....(wait...let me show you instead....)

Google.com

Notice the two buttons...one of which is kind of interesting..."I'm Feeling Lucky."  When I first discovered Google, I typed in a search for Farmers and Merchants Bank and Trust and pushed the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button.   Now, you must know that there are hundreds of banks with that name in the USA and when I pushed that "Lucky" button I was sure that I would see a list of hundreds of Farmers and Merchants Bank and Trust URLs.

Well...guess what happened?  Yes...I DID GET LUCKY.  Not only did Google find MY FMBT...but it went one step further too...IT ACTUALLY OPENED FMBT on my Browser

I was SHOCKED...stared at the screen. and was looking at www.fmmarinette.com  I really couldn't believe it but there it was.  My first thought was that "this is some kind of joke."  Then I thought, how can this be?  Then I thought....WOW...Google is INCREDIBLE!  BTW...if you don't believe me...try the search for yourself and see what happens.  One word of caution though.   If you do not live in the Marinette, Menominee, or Peshtigo areas of the world, your "I'm feeling lucky" search may turn up a different result????

So, needless to say, Google is one of my FAVORITE search engines.

And now....let's finish our discussion of Search Engines with an experiment...using Google.

I'll do a search for northeast wisconsin technical college and hit (left click on) the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button and we'll see what kind of magic Google can do this time....READY?  Taking any bets on what we'll see as a result of this search?   Scroll down and see for yourself.............

NWTC's web site...as found and displayed by Google.com

BTW...this is was not a "setup."  This was a legitimate search experiment...and prior to this moment, I had no idea what the result would be.  Just so happened...I was "feeling lucky" and Google delivered...just as I thought it would!
