Red Sunrise99  by Lloyd, a/k/a Web Page Wizard I ™

This is a keeper.  I just got lucky and the lighting and everything was just right. It seems that if you try long enough and hard enough...sometimes, things work out.  This is Red Sunrise99.  Door County is on the horizon, just 15 miles across the bay.  The picture was taken from the western shore of the bay of Green Bay...in the wee hours of the morning.  By the way, this picture was not retouched in any way.  I just acquired it into Adobe PhotoShop 4.0 and resized it...that's it...saved it as a JPEG...nothing else...really!

What's the old saying about...hmmm...let me see...oh yes...I know..."red sky at night, sailor's delight, red sky in the morning, sailor's take warning."  Guess what kind of a day it turned out to be???  Come to think of it...this is one of my favorite pics too.  It's hard for me to choose

Dock of The Bay98...by Lloyd Cook, a/k/a Web Page Wizard I ™

Making for shore after a hard day "at the office."  It doesn't get much better than this.  Home Sweet Home!  By the way, this picture was not retouched in any way.  I just acquired it into Adobe PhotoShop 4.0 and resized it...that's it...saved it as a JPEG...nothing else...really!  Ok, I did run it thru Ulead's JPEG Saver to shrink down the file size...just a bit.  I think this is my 2nd favorite pic...so far, next to the awesome sunrise pic...that it.  It's almost like being in the canoe right now.  Gentle breeze blowing, the tiny waves lapping at the canoe, the smells of the water and the sounds of the birds nearby.  Speaking of birds, someday (I've been trying for a few years now) I will put up a close-up pic of the neighborhood eagle that nests nearby.  I've been trying and trying to get a good pic but so far...I've only captured a tiny speck on the pictures that I have.  Oh well, one day...

Sunrise99 Again...by Lloyd Cook, a/k/a Web Page Wizard I ™

Guess I have a thing about sunrises. But, then again, they are incredible...aren't they?  By the way, this picture was not retouched in any way.  I just acquired it into Adobe PhotoShop 4.0 and resized it...that's it...saved it as a JPEG...nothing else...really!  Ok, I did run it thru Ulead's JPEG Saver to shrink down the file size...just a bit.  What's the old saying...hmmm...ok..."the early bird gets the worm" and the early photographer gets and awesome sunrise...sometimes!  If you look real close at the bottom of the picture, you can barely see the bow of the canoe.  Ok, I'll admit, you have to have excellent eyes...maybe you can just take my word for it...ok?  Yes, once again, this photo was taken from the western shore of the bay of Green Bay.  The sun is rising over Door County, actually, Egg Harbor is almost straight across...15 miles as the seagull flies.  On the very left side, and not quite visible, is Green Island...about 5 miles from me. And yes...this is my favorite.  So much so, that I put it on my opening page on inette.com!  Did you notice it?

Sunset98...  by Lloyd Cook, a/k/a Web Page Wizard I ™

This is a rare Sunset photo.  Note the splash of orange just to the left of the dock?  That's what I can see of a sunset.  The sun was just setting behind the trees.  I was in my canoe and just happened to catch this rare phenomenon...a sunset.  FYI, just to the left of the dock is my Canoe Chute.  Logs lashed together, laying on the rock wall.  When I want to launch, I just put the canoe on the chute and let her ride down and slip into the bay. Works great!  I just acquired it into Adobe PhotoShop 4.0 and resized it...that's it...saved it as a JPEG...nothing else...really!  Ok, I did run it thru Ulead's JPEG Saver to shrink down the file size...just a bit

Dock of The Bay99   by Lloyd Cook, a/k/a Web Page Wizard I ™

Notice anything different about this picture?  Different from Dock of The Bay98? Well, it seems that my Canoe Chute is no longer of any use.  The bay decided to recede...it's down about a foot this year.  So...instead of water up to the shore, I now have...well almost, a sand beach!  Yikes!  Mother nature is something else.  Never know what she is going to do next.  Notice also that my canoe is in "dry dock?" Well, this year, in order to get her into the bay, I have to drag her through the sand.  Actually, early in the season, there was enough water...just barely, to launch her.  But as the spring/summer wore on, the "beach" appeared to grow.  I estimate that I can now walk out at least 300 yards from "shore"...on sand.  "What a difference a day makes?" Anyhow,  I just acquired the picture into Adobe PhotoShop 4.0 and resized it...that's it...saved it as a JPEG...nothing else...really!  Ok, I did run it thru Ulead's JPEG Saver to shrink down the file size...just a bit
